“Nancy Rhodes was in Ephesus, Turkey when she heard the voice of Mother Mary imploring her to: “Tell My Story.” And so she has.  Brilliantly, poetically, and magically. Mary’s Story rings clear and true because it is apparently delivered just as she received it – direct from the source. It is a book about love delivered with a pure heart, a story from over 2000 years ago but with a message for today, which is in itself a testament to the timeless nature of love and devotion. It is also specifically a mother’s story, told from the feminine perspective of love. Yes, Mary is the mother of Jesus, but the life experiences of Jesus are told through her eyes, with her heart, her love, her sentiment. Jesus is not elevated above the family in this telling. We experience his childhood and maturity into a powerful teacher through the eyes of Mary and the family. Rachel, one of Mary’s daughters, is also an important character, as is Joseph, the wise and devoted husband and father.

You don’t have to be Jewish or Christian to read and be moved by Mary’s Story. It is a story for everyone. Love is what each and every one of us needs. Moreover, the telling of Mary’s story at this time brings a powerful message to humanity about the state of our ecology. Jesus, Mary, and Jesus’s sister Rachel all share something in common. They are spiritual beings keenly attuned to messages from nature. They hear and see the voices of the trees, bushes, and all of the natural world around them. They feel creation at a deep level. They teach that love includes nature, and that the human is not separate from that love.

Finally, one of the more interesting aspects of the book is when Mary reveals that the author (Nancy Rhodes) was Rachel, the daughter of Mary in an earlier life. This amazing detail, disarmingly shared in the flow of the book, makes sense. It would explain why Mother Mary chose Nancy (formerly Rachel) to be her spokesperson, and why the book is so potent, vibrating with truth and love from start to finish.”

5.0 out of 5 stars: BOTH INFORMATIVE AND INSPIRATIONAL

“Over the years, there have been several books attributed to Mary the mother of Jesus, an archetype that never loses its popularity. This account is both literate and fascinating at least from my perspective. . . The details resonate with what is known of that era, and the chronology makes sense. as well. Nancy Rhodes seems to have been the idea receptor for what turns out to be a remarkable account of life at the tern of the millennium. Rather than focusing on its authenticity, readers would do well to enjoy that thoughts and feelings so well portrayed, as well as a portrayal of Joseph that adds depth to the account.”
